Remark
During the manufacturing process the orientation layers of an LCD can be treated such that a so-called preferred viewing direction can be built in. In this direction the display contrast is maximum. A 6 o'clock view means a preferred view from below (270 deg in the plane of the LCD), whereas a 12 o'clock (or 90 deg) preferred view implies a preference from above. The exact elevation angle is not taken into account.
